… The TV season continues and it’s not hard to find podcasts in the TV mix. Discovery Network ID The channel announced on Wednesday that it would launch two new podcasts. Hot and Deadly debuts June 16 and will feature true Southern crime stories that draw audio from three hit TV shows, including “Swamp Murders,” “Highway to Hell,” and “Southern Fried Homicide.” The other new podcast is called Deadliest Decade, which is set to debut in August. It features stories from the television series of the same name. ID will also launch a new season of its Mind Of A Monster series in July. The new season will focus on serial killers Ted Bundy and the so-called Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway

..Podcasters run for another journalism award. the Scripps Howard Prize announced the three finalists for Excellence in Radio/Podcast Coverage. They include the “Mississippi Rising” episode of the Latino USA podcast, NBC News’ Southlake podcast, and the January 15, 2021 episode “Four Hours of Insurrection” of The Washington Post’s Post Report podcast. Finalists for the 69th Scripps Howard Awards have were selected by a panel of seasoned journalists and media leaders. Winners will be announced June 12 with $170,000 in cash prizes across 15 categories.

The RQ network has recorded over 150 million downloads to date.
