…Syndicated radio presenter Bobby Bones is launching a new football podcast called 25 Whistles. The weekly show will feature Bones and the singer-songwriter Adam Hambrickradio show reporter Kevin O’Connelland producer Eddie Garcia. The show will cover weekly happenings in the world of professional and college football with expert guests, commenting, critiquing and confessing the weekly picks. Country artists are likely to make appearances. Reference segments include: The Lame-O of the week, 5 Eddie’s Second Cowboy Report, and The payday guarantee. New episodes of 25 Whistles will be released every Friday.
…The operation of sports betting BetMGM hired an actor Jerry Ferrara working as a podcast host and brand ambassador for the gaming operator. The self-proclaimed ‘diehard sports fan’ will co-host BetMGM’s weekly sports podcast Unleashed alongside Olivia Harlan Dekker as well as being featured in upcoming BetMGM marketing campaigns. “I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge with other sports fans,” Ferrara said. The actor has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, including HBO’s “Entourage,” Starz’s “Power,” “Last Vegas,” “Lone Survivor” and “Think Like a Man.” Ferrara also hosts the Bad 4 Business podcast with interviews from athletes, actors, and everyday people.
…Jam Street Media announced a new partnership with Sounder this will allow the podcast production and consulting company to leverage Sounder’s data on monetization, brand safety and contextual targeting to accelerate the growth of its network and branded shows. Jam Street has also signed deals to do network building/structure consulting for Muddhouse Media, Bright Sighted Podcasting and Story Studio Network. Additionally, Jam Street says it will also advise two startups, including Instagram campaign performance tracker Stampede Social and audio distributor Audiolabs. “I can’t believe all of this has happened in the past two months,” the founder said. …The ABC News The Dropout podcast returns after wrapping the second season in January, with a bonus episode “Amanda and The Other Liz” featuring the actress and star of Hulu’s Emmy-nominated limited series based on the podcast, Amanda Seyfriedand executive producer and television showrunner, Liz Meriwether, for a wide-ranging panel discussion on the creation of the Hulu limited series. ABC News Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, which hosts The Dropout, talks with the couple about Seyfried’s performance as Elizabeth Holmes, COVID challenges while filming the limited series and more. Seyfried is nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Elizabeth Holmes, one of six nominations for the Hulu series this year.
