NFL Week 17 Weather (Fantasy Football)

0

I’ve heard of concerns about the weather this week, but it actually isn’t looking as bad as expected. Even when the weather looks tough, the game is either on the verge of injustice or the QBs playing in the game are downright pitiful. The game to watch is Green Bay against Minnesota which will be played in extremely cold temperatures.

Updates: Updates placed here as needed.

Watch ‘SUNDAY LIVE’ at noon ET – Mike Wright will answer start / sit questions and cover injury updates.

SUNDAY JANUARY 2, 2022

New York Giants vs. Chicago Bears

1:00 p.m. ET // Soldier Field // Chicago, Illinois

Temperature: 32 °
Precipitation: Snow
Wind: 17 mph
Wind gusts: 30 mph

Fantastic impact: We will see some snow, but it will be light with a buildup throughout the game probably totaling less than an inch. This pretty much ensures that both teams will rely almost exclusively on the racing game, although we could have guessed that whatever the weather, Andy Dalton should start facing a Jake Fromm / Mike Glennon combination.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New England Patriots

1:00 p.m. ET // Gillette Stadium // Foxboro, Massachusetts

Temperature: 43 °
Precipitation: light rain
Wind: 3 mph
Wind Gusts: 6 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Rams from Los Angeles to Baltimore Ravens

1:00 p.m. ET // M&T Bank Stadium // Baltimore, Maryland

Temperature: 60 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 8 mph
Wind Gusts: 26 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

The Buccaneers of Tampa Bay at New York Jets

1:00 p.m. ET // MetLife Stadium // East Rutherford, New Jersey

Temperature: 43 °
Precipitation: light rain
Wind: 5 mph
Wind Gusts: 6 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Atlanta Falcons at Bison tickets

1:00 p.m. ET // Highmark Stadium // Orchard Park, New York

Temperature: 27 °
Precipitation: Snow
Wind: 12 mph
Wind Gusts: 15 mph

Fantastic impact: The weather is clearly not ideal and even the light snow forecast at Orchard Park can turn into a blizzard in the blink of an eye. That said, the weather is likely to have a minimal impact on the game. Atlanta is just rocked both on offense and defense while Buffalo has some of the best defenses in the league and a multidimensional offense that is (usually) capable. to move the ball at will.

Kyle Pitts is expected to continue getting plenty of goals, but might not have a lot of opportunities in the red zone. If Buffalo has one weakness, it’s their difficulty stopping a competent run. Cordarrelle Patterson has come down to Earth lately, but he and Mike Davis should both see double-digit hits. Atlanta’s only chance to keep this game close is to run the ball efficiently. Bad weather may actually help their efforts, but the weather doesn’t seem so bad. This is precisely why they are still losers by 14.5 points.

Kansas City Chiefs to Cincinnati Bengals

1:00 p.m. ET // Paul Brown Stadium // Cincinnati, Ohio

Temperature: 34 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 10 mph
Wind Gusts: 15 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Miami Dolphins vs. Tennessee Titans

1:00 p.m. ET // Nissan Stadium // Nashville, Tennessee

Temperature: 38 °
Precipitation: light rain
Wind: 12 mph
Wind Gusts: 18 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Football Team

1:00 p.m. ET // FedEx Field // Landover, Maryland

Temperature: 61 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 7 mph
Wind Gusts: 26 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Houston Texans vs. San Francisco 49ers

4:05 PM ET // Levi’s Stadium // Santa Clara, CA

Temperature: 55 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 9 mph
Wind Gusts: 17 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing

Detroit Lions at the Seattle Seahawks

4:25 p.m. ET // Century Link Stadium // Seattle, Washington

Temperature: 39 °
Precipitation: light rain
Wind: 16 mph
Wind Gusts: 38 mph

Fantastic impact: I saw a lot of “The Sky is Falling” regarding the weather for this game, but I can’t see it. It will rain, it will be cold and it will be windy, but if the predictions hold true, none of these factors are bad enough to have a predictable negative impact on the fantastic score.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

8:20 p.m. ET // Lambeau Field // Green Bay, Wisconsin

Temperature: 9 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 7 mph
Wind Gusts: 16 mph

Fantastic impact: The cold really didn’t slow down Green Bay’s offense too much. Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones tend to light it up even in games played below 21 degrees, so I wouldn’t mind playing your Green Bay studs (although the Aaron Jones / AJ Dillon split is difficult to navigate).

On the other side of the ball, Kirk Cousins is out and it looks like Sean Mannion will start… in less than 10 °… in Green Bay. Justin Jefferson is too good to be placed on the bench, but the rest of Minnesota’s receiving options should be a tough pass. Dalvin Cook hasn’t played in such a cold game yet but he’s averaged over 100 rushing yards and received in three games played in cold weather and I can’t imagine Minnesota not giving him a load of enormous work taking into account all the other factors which work against them.

MONDAY JANUARY 3, 2022

Cleveland browns at the Pittsburgh Steelers

8:15 p.m. ET // Heinz Field // Pittsburgh, PA

Temperature: 25 °
Precipitation: None
Wind: 3 mph
Wind Gusts: 9 mph

Fantastic impact: Nothing
