The girls of THE Little Mix cried between songs as they prepared for their final tour before taking a break.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall caused a stir during their penultimate gig at London’s O2 Arena.

Storming the stage in an explosion of rainbow fireworks, they had the crowd roaring with smash hits Shout Out To My Ex, Heartbreak Anthem and Break Up Song.

And as they launched into the second act, Secret Love Song Part II saw the entire arena lit up by glowing smartphones swaying to the beat of the lyrics.

Things took an emotional turn when the girls opened up about their decade-long friendship.

Appearing alongside Leigh-Anne and Perrie on a platform suspended from the ceiling, Jade told the audience: “We laughed together, we cried together.

“We met through some of the darkest times of our lives and created some of the most incredible memories, and we love each other so much.”

Taking over, a tearful Perrie said, “I have to contain myself because this is going to be, like, a really ugly scream!

“The love we have for each other is ridiculous.

“I want to take this moment to say to Jade and Leigh-Anne, I love you more than anything – and I can’t thank you enough for the last ten years of my life.

“You have been my rock, you have been my shoulder to cry on, I really appreciate it and I love you so, so much.”

Addressing the crowd again, Perrie, who wiped her tears away, continued, “You guys, we love you so, so much.

“We want to leave you with a very special song. It’s basically a love song for each other.

“This is our journey, but we can never go through it without crying.

“So, London, can you help us through this one?”

As the crowd roared, they launched into Between Us.

When Jade and then Leigh-Anne broke down in tears and couldn’t get their lyrics out, the audience helped them fill in the gaps.

But they recovered for the final act and were back in party mode with the anthems Hit The Floor and Salute, ending with Sweet Melody.

The only bitter note of the evening was the conspicuous absence of former member Jesy Nelson who left the band in 2020 and was almost completely erased from every edit and clip.

That awkward detail aside – and the omission of the mega-hit DNA from the setlist – it was a fitting tribute to one of our most beloved girl groups.

We look forward to seeing them again.

DOCKERIE IN FROCK SHOCKER

DOWNTON Abbey actress Michelle Dockery shocked movie bosses during filming by jumping into a swimming pool while wearing her vintage costume.

Michelle, who plays Lady Mary Crawley, wore authentic 1920s gear described as “irreplaceable” to shoot scenes set on the French Riviera for Downton’s second film, A New Era.

The costume team could only watch in horror as Michelle unexpectedly dives and jumps – fully clothed – into a pool on set.

A source said: “Many of Downton’s costumes are genuine antiques, in that they can never be washed as they may be damaged.

“These are very expensive items. It was not a good time.”

Just last month, the film’s costume designer, Anna Robbins, said: “Fabrics are irreplaceable and they are becoming increasingly rare.

“There are valuable originals in there.”

There’s one less now.

GLEN: I AM GUNNER BEING SICK

The FILMING of Top Gun: Maverick was disrupted by cast members who became violently ill after being subjected to powerful g-forces while performing extreme stunts in the air.

Glen Powell, who plays young pilot Jake “Hangman” Seresin in the highly anticipated action sequel, shared how the main cast went through three months of training before filming.

But that wasn’t enough to stop them reaching for the sick bags at key times.

Glen, who admitted to being blindsided by nausea, added that leading man Tom Cruise – reprising his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the first Top Gun in 1986 – was the only one who managed to keep his cool. .

He revealed, “There was a lot of vomiting during filming.

“Before filming, Tom sent us three months of training to get used to the g-force.

“(But) even with practice, nothing prepares you for the intensity of flying in an F-18.

“We were all flying once a day and Tom was up there three times a day.

“But it didn’t faze him at all.

“We are there, all sick in bags, and he takes everything in his stride.

“The guy is a machine.”

STEPHEN NEEDS TO COVER

PANICKED BBC bosses have called every hotel in Newcastle in the hope of finding a bed big enough for 6ft 7in comedy hero Stephen Merchant. . . and failed.

The actor was in the North East for the premiere of the second season of The Outlaws on Friday as part of the BBC Comedy Festival.

An insider said: ‘The bosses called all the hotels in the area but couldn’t find a bed big enough to fit his long frame.

“It was embarrassing after making the trip to Newcastle.”

In the end, Stephen – who created The Outlaws and its co-stars – settled for a king-size bed and the advice of sleeping diagonally.

He recently said: “Being very tall from a young age, I always felt like I stood out whether I liked it or not.

“In everyday life, I tried to blend in.

“Acting was a way of appropriating that. If you still want to stand out from the crowd, why not take full control of it?

“It wasn’t until later that I realized, ‘Oh, everybody wants to be big – it’s a superpower, and I kind of felt ashamed of it’.”

The view must be superb up there.

AFTER 11 years, Geordie Shore is taking a break, we hear.

But before that, MTV producers invited old faces such as Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle for a goodbye, alongside current housemates.

A source said: “Some of the OGs will be making an appearance as the house closes for good, even if he’s just coming to talk with the current cast about their best and worst moments filming the most outrageous show in television.”

Ta ra, pets.

I GOT YOUR BECK

A MONTH after saying “yes”, it seems that Brooklyn Beckham is still carrying his wife Nicola Peltz on the doorstep.

Lying on the PDAs while in London’s Soho, Nicola planted a big, grateful kiss on her cheek after Brooklyn lifted her up.
