NewFest executive director David Hatkoff told Variety that the main theme of the upcoming festival is “the connection.”
“The LGBTQ + community thrives by connecting with each other, and after spending most of the past 18 months apart, we crave experiences that remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves,” Hatkoff told Variety.
“We believe queer cinema offers an opportunity to connect in a unique and festive way. This year’s program highlights that every member of our community has a story to tell and shows how important it is when we listen to, learn and spend time with each other.
Buttigieg announced earlier this month that he and her husband Chasten welcomed twins into their family.
