Podcast analytics platform Magellan AI has hired Jim Ballas to serve as head of publisher partnerships. Ballas will be responsible for all aspects of publisher relationships, including growing the partnerships team and identifying and expanding product development.
Ballas has spent the past eight years at PodcastOne, including serving as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Operations since 2019. Prior to getting into podcasting, he worked for five years at radio syndicator Premiere Networks within from the continuity production department.

During Ballas’ time at PodcastOne, he spearheaded the creation of a custom podcast creation and distribution tool as well as LaunchpadOne, his free podcast hosting platform for user-generated content. But Ballas also played a role in advertising, which Magellan AI focuses on. Ballas drove the use and adoption of programmatic advertising at PodcastOne, developing and using new audience segmentation to drive seven-figure revenue.
