James Houston Interview on the Detroit Lions NFL Podcast


Detroit Lions rookie linebacker James Houston is eager to prove he should have been drafted earlier by his new team.

Houston was selected in the sixth round (No. 217 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

A participant in rookie minicamp, Houston joined AllLions for an interview discussing his experiences in college, his reaction to the draft and how he’s eager to prove he can be a game-changer on defense that the research team.

“It was just an amazing opportunity,” Houston said when asked about being drafted by the Lions. “I’m so glad Detroit picked me. Obviously, I felt like I should have gone higher. But, everyone feels like that.”

Houston continued: “It was amazing. I was so grateful that they picked me. A team really wanted me to come here. I’m just going to give it my all. I’m going to show them that I’m not a pick of Sixth round.. I’m a first round pick.
