Emmerdale’s Katie Hill told to go home by ITV after mix-up

Emmerdale’s Sarah Sugden, played by Katie Hill, was invited home by ITV Studios this week.

The 19-year-old has been part of the popular ITV soap opera since 2017, but was left in shock when she appeared to have mixed up her work schedule.

Katie shared an image to her Instagram story showing the outside of the ITV studios before revealing an embarrassing gaffe.

She captioned the snap: “I don’t show up to work at 7am to be told I’m not even here today [facepalm emoji]”.

The cast of Emmerdale don’t have to commute to work every day while filming, as they receive a certain number of episodes per year.

Katie is the fifth actress to play Sarah Sugden, who is the daughter of Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden.

Although her character in the soap opera is young, she has already suffered a considerable amount of trauma than most will in a lifetime.

Throughout her life, Sarah has spent most of her time in and out of hospital after being diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Fanconi anemia at the age of six.
