Edinburgh podcast studio turns up the volume by doubling the space

Woosh Entertainments expansion comes just over a year after brothers Keith and Graeme Easton set up what is believed to be the capital’s first dedicated podcast studio at their headquarters south of the city. .

Keith Easton, Managing Director of the company, said: “We opened The Wel podcast studio towards the end of 2018 as we identified that it was a medium that was growing in popularity very quickly.

“It has continued to grow rapidly, with companies large and small recognizing the benefits of this route to market.

“People are also always looking for different ways to entertain themselves and podcasts are now one of the most popular methods of engagement.

“We work in a wide range of sectors, from sports to finance and mental health, and it became clear that we needed to expand to cater for everyone who wanted to be heard using our recording facilities.”

The larger recording facility is almost double the size of the original and now incorporates an antechamber.

“It has been an exciting year for us, we are delighted with the new studio and look forward to further developments,” added Easton, who has hosted well-known sports personalities such as Gavin Hastings, Mark Beaumont and Shelley Kerr at The Well. while Craig Telfer, host of The View from the Terrace, also attended the studio.

Edinburgh businessman Alan Nash, who hosts the ‘Get After It’ podcast at The Wel, said: “In 2018 I had an idea for a podcast but didn’t know how to get it off the ground. After my first meeting with Keith, we recorded my first show a week later.
