Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) celebrated the renaming of PATV – Long Island as North Shore TV and cut the ribbon for their Studio B podcast studio during the celebration organization’s annual community media event on Friday, October 18. The New York-based organization supplemented Studio B with a $25,000 hotel and motel tax grant that lawmaker Birnbaum secured in late 2018.

“As North Shore TV embarks on a new chapter of providing informative and entertaining programming for audiences, I am proud to stand with the leaders of this organization and celebrate their commitment to serving their viewers,” said the legislator Birnbaum. “I’m excited to see what the coming years will bring to the screen.”

The nonprofit, which was launched in 1984, reaches audiences in Great Neck and other nearby North Shore communities. North Shore TV’s mission is to promote and produce educational, literary, cultural and civic television programming.

North Shore TV also aims to increase community awareness and increase community participation through the creation and viewing of local television, and to encourage programming to reflect the concerns, interests and activities of the communities that she serves.
