Asobo Studio is prototyping a brand new racing game for Xbox, possibly a kart racer, based on a new rumor.

Speaking during Episode 125 of the XboxEra Podcast, Shpeshal Nick claimed he had heard of Asobo Studio working on an early prototype for a new racing game for Xbox that could actually be a kart racer.

Since the first-party lineup for Xbox doesn’t feature a kart racer, this may be something Microsoft and Asobo Studio are considering. Based on Shpeshal NickAccording to information from , the concept is still in the prototyping phase, so it remains to be seen if it will finally materialize into a real game.

Asobo Studio’s previous title for Xbox, Microsoft Flight Simulator, mimics the terrain of all of Earth using data from Bing Maps. Microsoft Azure’s artificial intelligence (AI) creates three-dimensional representations of Earth properties by combining cloud computing to render and enhance graphics with real-world data to create real-time weather conditions and effects.

With over 1,000 simulated surfaces and realistic wind patterns across hills and mountains, Flight Simulator incorporates a physics engine to give realistic flight control surfaces. Some slots have been created and are only available in region-specific upgrades. Azure AI includes real-time factors such as natural weather and real air traffic to enhance its authenticity. New elements such as landing difficulties and assists, as well as safaris where pilots can imagine animals from the air, have been added to the game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator was released on August 18, 2020 and is available on Game Pass. The game marks the series’ return after a 14-year hiatus, with production beginning six years before release. It then received a virtual reality (VR) edition in December of that year, making it the first game in the series to do so. On July 27, 2021, it was released for the Xbox Series X and Series S, making it the first game in the series to get a console release.
