Arnold Schwarzenegger says this recipe is superior to using yeast, which he did during his time as a bodybuilder.
Arnold Schwarzenegger remains an influential voice in the sport of bodybuilding after a career that marked him as the best to date. However, it might not be something her fans will want to follow. Or maybe they will?
Schwarzenegger sat down for a Zoom interview with Insider and was able to discuss many topics around bodybuilding and his protein recipe. It turned out that Schwarzenegger now likes to mix his protein with different alcohols.
“I add a little schnapps or tequila. Tequila is also good,” Schwarzenegger said.
In a previous interview with Men’s Health, Schwarzenegger shared a recipe he likes to use for these shakes. It consists of almond milk, cherry juice, a banana and a whole egg to accompany the protein powder.
“I sometimes put schnapps. I sometimes add tequila. It just gives it a little more flavor,” Schwarzenegger said.

Arnold Schwarzenegger started drinking protein shakes at an early age. When he was 15, Schwarzenegger used a blender to mix milk, skim milk powder, honey and yeast. He explained that this taste was not good and that he now prefers a mixture of alcohol.

Schwarzenegger is currently in Toronto filming a live-action television series for Netflix titled UTAP. On set, he made these protein shakes for his team and received lots of positive feedback.
“I now make protein shakes for the entire cast. My trailer becomes a bit like a bar where people come for a protein shake.
Arnold Schwarzenegger started his career as a teenager when he developed a love for fitness. He quickly built a championship physique that led him to seven Olympic titles. He is considered the greatest bodybuilder of all time and remains active in the gym to this day.
At 74, Schwarzenegger stays active in the gym and has even dabbled in plant-based diets. Protein shakes with alcohol could become the new craze if people start believing Schwarzenegger is as good as he says he is.
